Collagen Induction Therapy

Sanctuary Spa is proud to announce the addition of Collagen Induction Therapy – one of the most popular and effective skin-care treatment alternatives to laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, chemical peeling and other aesthetic procedures.

If you desire the look your skin would receive with laser treatments, microdermabrasion or chemical peels, but are not able or willing to endure the cost and/or the process, Collagen Induction Therapy may be the perfect option for you. This therapy is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment with quick recovery time and is designed to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production.  This is a unique way to address and correct

  • acne scars, surgical scars, chicken pox scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and upper lip lines, hair loss, hyperpigmentation, lax skin, sun damaged skin, large pores and skin texture.

Collagen Induction Therapy is also known as dermal rolling, skin needling, or micro-needling. The treatment uses a small, hand held medical grade roller that contains rows of very small micro-needles. When rolled over the skin, the micro-needles create tiny, evenly-spaced channels on the skin. Another way to look this treatment is we are creating controlled damage to certain areas on the skin making tiny dot-like injury patterns, leaving the others areas of the skin perfectly intact; hence only causing “fractional” damage.  This allows the skin to heal much faster than if we treated the whole area of the skin.  During the body’s natural wound-healing process of the channels, collagen and elastin are automatically produced (collagen inducing therapy). This results in thicker, more plumped up skin, just like when you were younger.  For scaring, when new elastin is produced, the tight bands of scar tissue become more flexible. The therapy can be performed either on the face or body.

Resulting micro-channels also aid in infusing cosmeceuticals for greater penetration and increasing overall efficacy. Many clinical studies have proven that serum absorption is increased by as much as 1,000 times when applied with collagen induction therapy. Clinical studies have also shown that collagen induction therapy is more consistent in increasing the thickness of the skin than IPL and other resurfacing treatments.

NOTE FROM BREA:  I have experienced this treatment many times and can honestly say it is not painful and I did not need anesthetic.  I used the smallest size roller.  The sensation I experienced was more of a prickly feeling.  Afterwards, it felt slightly irritated and did have that sunburned feeling.  My skin is very plump and hydrated after a treatment.  I can hardly wait to have more treatments!

After the treatment, your skin will be slightly pink and feel slightly sunburned. For most people, your skin will completely recover in 24-72 hours. Improvement in the appearance of scars and lines can be achieved through a series 4-8 treatments, spaced 2 weeks to 2 months apart.

Your body’s collagen production usually takes about 4-8 weeks, so you will continue to see dramatic improvements over this time.

First treatment includes cost of your personal roller.

     1st:   $250

2nd:  $195  (and each subsequent treatment)
